Home steam room guide

A steam room needs three things: a sealed, waterproof room, a steam generator sized for it, and lighting built for constant moisture. Here is how to plan each part.

Aura unfinished moulded steam room module

1. Choose the room construction

You can build and waterproof the room on site, or start from a moulded unfinished module with the benches, loungers and curved ceiling already formed. Aura modules are supplied unfinished, ready for your tiles or mosaic, which saves weeks of carpentry and waterproofing on site.

2. Size the steam generator

The Aura Steam Generator comes in 17 sizes from 3 to 24 kW for steam rooms from 2 to 30 m³. Tiled and stone rooms take more power than the volume alone suggests, so send us your room size and wall material and we will recommend the size. A fast-steam mode suits busy spa and hotel use.

3. Add the options you need

Optional extras for the Aura generator: an aroma pump for scents, an automatic descaling pump for hard water, door control and an exhaust fan.

4. Light it for steam

Steam room ceilings are wet all the time, so lights must be sealed. The Aura LED SteamSpot is IP68, made of AISI 316L stainless steel and gives 3000 K warm white light.
